Isle of Skye

Isle of Skye was phenomenal!  We did a little bus tour thing, and our tour guide, Ewan, was the greatest tour guide one could ask for in Scotland.  He was HILARIOUS, told lots of stories, and played good music.  He took us around the island to different scenic spots and gave us the history of the place as well.  A common theme from Scots telling their history, we learned, was starting at the very beginning.  And when I say very beginning, I mean very beginning.  Ewan, for example, began the tour with "Scotland's history begins 400 billion years ago, when the big bang happened".  Pretty much any other historical display, museum, etc. I saw the entire time in Scotland started the same way.  So apparently, Scotland has been around for awhile.  The one hard thing about the tour was the weather.  Luckily it didn't rain, but we had massive wind, and it was really cold!  There were a few times when I felt like the wind was going to blow me over!  But even in the icky weather, Isle of Skye was a treat to view!  We ended the day after the tour by going to a pub that was participating in the Accordion and Fiddle Festival, and got to listen to a live band that was fantastic!
